Muchas Gracias, Juan!
My brother, Juan -- Ok...his name isn't really Juan, but I like to call him that for fun. He's my little brother, so finding any way possible to pick on him is and has been my job for many years now. Kinda funny...I think he likes it now and even signed his name as such on our Christmas gift tag! But...I digress -- My brother, Jon (a.k.a., Juan) sent a little tid-bit for Hunter and Wally in our Christmas gift package. The goody - two "Bark-B-Que" flavored bones!!!

The intent of the product is to offer a safe, healthy alternative for dogs that like to chew (nice work, Jon...great find!). The bone even smelled good to Ty and me (no...we didn't taste it). However, there was one little glitch - our dogs aren't quite average. Anything labeled as "good for aggressive chewers" is discredited by 1) Hunter and 2) Wally (Hmm...maybe there's some money in this...loan 'em out as doggie product testers).
The bones weren't that big, so we figured it would be a good treat for them to end the night with. We passed them out to the dogs, Wally first and then Hunter. Hunter assumed his usual post for chewing - the dog bed. Wally proceeded to entertain various antics, involving rolling on the bone, tossing the bone up in the air, swatting at the bone with his paws, etc. Not quite sure when this method came about, but it was fun to watch and he seemed to be enjoying himself. Finally, Wally settled in to start in on "the chew". Here's a shot of Wally diggin' in.

Well, in the time it took for us to watch Wally fiddle around with his bone and for me to grab the camera, Hunter had managed to split his bone in two and - gulp - swallow one end and - chew, chew, gulp - swallow the other end. And what does Hunter do when he's finished and Wally's just getting started????.....

.....He weighs in his options. A quick glance from one to another, which we managed to capture in this snapshot, was all it took for the glimmer of hope in Hunter's stomach to fade away.
As mentioned, these little do-dad bones were only about 5 inches in length and not very thick, so the rapid consumption was nothing to worry about.
So...Bark-B-Que bones were a hit, Jon. Thanks, from Hunter and Wally!!!
